Education isn't a waste after all. Gone were the days we
stood up in class screaming at the top of our lungs, reciting the vowels,
consonants, and all those things that never made sense to us back then. We were
just a gathering of excited juveniles waiting for break time and doing what we
know how to do best, eat!
Again, kudos to a good school and the brain that does magic
with retention even in our subconscious. Science makes us understand that a
neural path is usually formed in the brain when we learn something new. So, you
can imagine how many neural paths your brain has developed over the years,
interesting, yeah?
Well, this post will help juggle your memory on what vowels
are, and excitingly share with you some 5 letter words with most vowels you
know but least paid attention to. Before we proceed, I must regard The
Watchtower for making this platform possible to share my article.
Going by Wikipedia’s definition, a vowel is a syllabic
speech sound pronounced without any stricture in the vocal tract.
Vowels are one of the two principal classes of speech sounds,
the other being consonant. Vowels vary in quality, loudness, and also in
quantity.
Vowels consist mainly of 5 alphabets [A, E, I, O, U] from
the 26 alphabets in standard English, however, in some other variations and
advanced learning from the Latin origin, it is said that we have 7 vowels which
include Y and W.
These two however find their space in consonants and could
be a reason for confusion by many. For this article, I will stick with the
widely accepted 5 alphabets which are A, E, I, O U.
Most English words have vowels, but some don't contain the
letters A, E, I, O, or U.
Do you know that there are more than 120 words without
vowels in the English language? Amusing, yeah? You must have seen them when
playing scrabble or wordle but overlook them all. Some of them are Crypt,
Lymph, Nymph, Psych, Wryly, Shyly, and Cysts.
You must have thought these words would be strange to you or
considered them to be long and distant. Well, you will be amazed these are
words that you have probably seen today or used in some sentences a few minutes
ago.
After a thorough search, I have concluded these 9 words that
have the most vowels in them. If you are a lover of scrabble, these may help you
when coining words, especially when you just started the game, since it will
give room to help build subsequent words to earn you good points.
These words are: Adieu, Louie, Audio, Auloi, Aurei, Ouija,
Ourie, Miaou, and Uraei.
Learning is fun, especially when your mind is open to it.
Now, go ahead, and familiarize yourself with these words. Don’t sweat it, I
will send my bill later for this insight I just helped you.
Vowels are speech sounds produced by a comparatively open configuration of the vocal tract, with the vibration of the vocal cords without audible friction. Vowels are the unit of a sound language that forms the nucleus of a syllable. The words with the most vowels do not have to have many alphabets in them.
