How to cancel amazon prime

How to cancel amazon prime
We'll teach you how to cancel your Prime membership, get a refund, and end your account in the sections below. If you just want to unsubscribe from Amazon Prime, you don't need to terminate your account. In this article, I’ll show you how to cancel your Amazon Prime membership, who is available for a refund after cancellation, and how you can close your Amazon account if you choose to.

How to Cancel Your Amazon Prime Membership
Sign in to your Amazon account and select the Account drop-down menu to cancel your Amazon Prime subscription. Then, click on Prime Membership. Then, under the Membership title, click Update, cancel, and more, followed by End membership. You may also go to this support page and click the End Membership option to get to the appropriate place.

You must indicate three times that you wish to terminate your subscription. Amazon will try to transfer you to one of many alternative options (seen below):

1. A monthly subscription rather than an annual subscription
2. You will be notified a few days before your membership renews so that you can make an informed decision.
3. When your membership is up for renewal, it is put on hold.
4. On the renewal date, cancel your membership.

If you wish to cancel your membership altogether, you'll need to go through these additional steps first.

Who is eligible for a refund if they cancel their Amazon Prime membership?
According to the terms and regulations, customers who quit without utilizing any Prime perks (such as free shipping or Prime Video) may be automatically eligible for a refund.

You can, however, request a partial refund for the remaining time, according to DoNotPay. It appears that getting one is hit or miss, but it's worth calling Amazon support and asking. While researching this post, I called Amazon's chat support and was promptly told that there were no refunds available, but you may have more luck than I did, especially if you're completely closing down your account. Instead of utilizing chat, DoNotPay suggests contacting Amazon support or using the Contact Us page.

Amazon will handle refunds within three to five days. I recommend that you wait until your refund has been processed and deposited into your bank account before canceling your account completely.

You can now close your Amazon account
You can terminate your Amazon account now that your Prime subscription has been canceled and your payment has been refunded. Keep in mind that this is a permanent procedure, and once completed, you will lose all data associated with your account, as well as access to anything Amazon-related. If you change your mind in the future, you'll have to create a new Amazon account.

You'll lose access to Prime Video, Amazon Music, Amazon Photos, Audible, and all Kindle material, as well as free, quicker shipping on Amazon Prime products.

Before you begin, download any data you have stored in your Amazon account, such as anything in Amazon Photos.
Amazon gives a more detailed breakdown of everything related to your account on this support page. If you wish to close your account after perusing the list, go to Amazon's website and click on this link.

You'll be given a list of all the data and services linked with your account that will be deleted. Examine it closely once again to verify that nothing is missing. If you shop at Whole Foods, for example, your account will be terminated as well.

A checkbox at the bottom of the list must be chosen, and then the Close My Account button must be clicked. Your request was received and is now being processed.
