Residence permit for seasonal work

A seasonal work permit permits someone to work in the agricultural industry in the Netherlands for a maximum of six months. This permit combines a work and residency permit in one (or single permit). It is only available to employees from countries outside the EU, EEA, or Switzerland.

Residence permit for orientation year

If you wish to work in the Netherlands after finishing your degree, PhD, or research, you will require a residence permit. One of the following situations must apply to you:

- You conducted research throughout the last three years.

- You earned a master's degree through an Erasmus Mundus Masters Course during the last three years.

- Furthermore, you have finished one of the following study programs within the last three years:

- a degree program leading to a bachelor's or master's degree at a Dutch higher education institution

- a post-degree master's program in the Netherlands lasting at least one academic year

- a study program in the Netherlands under the Cultural Policy Act

- a master's degree, a doctorate degree, or a post-degree master's program at an approved foreign educational institution

 

Cross-border residence permit

You want to work in the Netherlands as a cross-border worker. You reside in Belgium, Germany, or another EU nation and work in the Netherlands.

Likewise, you are a cross-border employee in the following circumstances:

- You reside in another EU member state.

- Furthermore, you have that country's nationality or a valid residency permit for that country.

- You are employed in the Netherlands.

- You visit your house in the other EU nation at least once a week.
